It is widely recognised that stress is a major contributor to sickness and absence in the workplace Recent research has shown that 12.8 million working days are lost to mental illness every year and aproximately 3 in 10 employees will have a mental health problem of some sort in any one year.
The costs to an organisation can be high, therefore the business benefits in tackling these problems have a positive effect on organisational expenses, attendance, productivity and staff morale. As part of their Management Standards, the Health & Safety Executive(HSE) recommend that businesses ensure that therapeutic interventions are available. They go on to state that "using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approaches to work-related stress are more effective that some other treatments". This is one of the theories we work with in our counselling service. For further information It is recommended that the employee has approximately 6 - 8 sessions.
We have recently introduced the CORE system into our practice, for further information on how this information could benefit your organisation click on the following link CORE Sessions can be arranged outside working hours if preferred.
